You get real-user Core Web Vitals, the four Lighthouse scores and the issues to fix, for mobile and desktop.
Results from Google PageSpeed Insights. The URL you enter is sent to Google to run the test.
About the Website Speed Test
Find out how fast a web page loads and what slows it down. Enter a URL and the test runs Google's Lighthouse on it as a phone and as a desktop, and fetches the Core Web Vitals that real Chrome users experienced over the last 28 days. You get the four Lighthouse scores, the lab metrics, a filmstrip of the load and the issues to fix, ordered by impact.
How to use the Website Speed Test
-
Enter the page URL
Type or paste the address of any public page; https:// is added if you leave it out. Each page is measured on its own, so test the ones that matter, not only the home page.
-
Wait for the lab run
Lighthouse loads the page in Google's lab as a mid-range phone on a throttled mobile network, and again as a desktop. It usually takes 20 to 60 seconds, and both reports load at the same time.
-
Fix what weighs most
Start with the Core Web Vitals assessment, then work through the insights at the top of the performance list: they are sorted by how much they hold the page back.
When to use it
Before and after a release
Test a page before deploying a change and again afterwards, to catch regressions in load time or layout shift.
Choosing what to optimize
Use the estimated savings to pick the fixes, such as image compression or render-blocking scripts, that improve LCP the most.
Checking SEO and accessibility basics
The same run flags missing titles and descriptions, links and buttons without names, low contrast and other common problems.
Frequently asked questions
Where do the results come from?
From Google PageSpeed Insights. The lab section is a Lighthouse run in Google's data centers; the field section is the Chrome UX Report, real visits by Chrome users over the last 28 days. Tooly sends the URL to Google and shows the report it returns.
Why is there no field data for my page?
The Chrome UX Report only covers pages and sites with enough Chrome traffic. New or low-traffic pages show the lab results only, sometimes with field data for the whole site (origin) instead of the page.
Why does my score change between runs?
Lighthouse measures a single load, and network conditions, server response time, ads and third-party scripts vary from one run to the next. A few points of difference are normal: compare the trend over several runs, not one number.
Why is the mobile score lower than the desktop one?
The mobile run emulates a mid-range phone with a slower processor on a throttled 4G connection, so scripts take longer and the same page scores lower. That is deliberate: it is closer to what many visitors experience.
Can I test a page behind a login or on localhost?
No. Google's lab loads the page from the public internet, so pages behind a login, on localhost or on a private network cannot be tested. Reports are also kept for one minute, so testing the same page twice within a minute shows the same report.
